Ornament Contest: Celebrate Your Favorite Book or Book Character

Overview:

Get ready to spread some literary holiday cheer with our “Favorite Book or Book Character Ornament Contest” hosted by the Trinidad Carnegie Public Library. Show off your creativity, celebrate the joy of reading, and decorate your own unique holiday ornament based on your favorite book or book character. This fun and festive contest is for ages 5-17 and you have the chance to win amazing prizes, thanks to the generous support of the Trinidad Community Foundation.

Contest Details:

1. Theme: Participants are encouraged to create a holiday ornament inspired by their favorite book or book character.
2. Prizes:
   1. First Place – Bike
   2. Second Place- TBD
   3. Third Place – TBD

*Please note that the prizes are final and cannot be exchanged.

3. Submission Deadline: All submissions must be turned in to the library by December 18^th. Late entries will not be accepted.
4. Eligibility:
   1. The contest is open for ages 5-17 at all skill levels.
   2. Each participant is allowed one entry.
5. Submission Guidelines:
   1. Ornaments can be made from a variety of materials, such as paper, fabric, clay, wood, or any other creative medium.
   2. The ornament should be no larger than 4 inches to ensure it can be displayed on our holiday tree.
   3. Please attach a brief description of your ornament, including the book or book character it is based on, the materials used, name and age.
6. Judging:
   1. A panel of judges will evaluate the ornaments based on creativity, craftsmanship, and adherence to the theme.
   2. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
7. Display:

All submitted ornaments will be displayed on our library’s holiday tree for the community to enjoy throughout the holiday season.

8. How to Submit:

Visit Trinidad Carnegie Public Library during our regular business hours to submit your ornament.
