Common Good Cafe

January 13 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm MST

We will meet again on Monday afternoon, January 13th, at 5:00 PM. The topic this time is “Learning and sharing new skills.” This will be a Zoom Meeting and you need to register to join. To register, contact Tom Potter.

Susanne chose this topic after discovering that our library gives library cardholders free access to the Udemy app, which offers thousands of video courses on a myriad of subjects. Here is Susanne’s input:

Learning & Sharing New Skills

The commons & community well-being thrive on sharing resources including knowledge and skills. From practical skills such as repairing a flat tire on your bike, cooking, gardening, tech/IT/computer skills, physical skills for sports and hobbies,  social-emotional skills such as working through a conflict with someone, professional skills such as writing a resume, preparing for a job interview etc,

This is a roundtable where we invite everyone to chime in:

  1. What is your favorite new skill you learned in 2024?
  1. What would you like to learn in 2025?
  2. Who is a teacher that you are thankful for? What kind of skills did they share with you?
  3. Which skills do you share with others, formally or informally? Maybe with a grandchild, or a neighbor? Or as an instructor/trainer/teacher/service provider ..
  4. What is meaningful for you in sharing skills with others? Online? In-person?
  5. Exchanging tips and treasures: such as the library subscription to Udemy etc.
