Welcome to our Adult Winter Reading Program, where the embrace of captivating stories warms the chilly days! The program will start on January 20, 2025, and end on March 24, 2025.
As you read during these nine weeks, you’ll be earning points, and those points will lead to prizes:
- Earn 500 points and you receive a small notebook and pen.
- Earn 1000 points and you receive a library book bag.
- Complete BINGO for a chance to be entered into a prize drawing.
Here’s how you can earn points:
The program centers around four featured books. You’ll earn 200 points by reading two of these books. Read all four and earn 500 points. Here are the featured books:
True Grit, by Charles Portis
Traveling: On the Path of Joni Mitchell, by Ann Powers
Orbital, by Samantha Harvey
Fire Keeper’s Daughter, by Angeline Boulley
We’ll also be keeping track of how many hours you spend reading. You will receive 25 points for every hour you read, so keep track of all your reading time starting on January 20th.
Attend a library event from January 21st through March 22nd and you will earn 50 points for each event attended.
For extra points, you can leave a review of the book that you read. You will earn 5 points for each review.
We will be keeping track of your progress on a computer app called READsquared. You’ll be able to enter your reading activities from your phone, home computer, or a computer at the library, or we can enter the data for you.
So, grab your favorite blanket, brew a steaming cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, and let the enchantment of words carry you through the frosty days.
Happy Reading!!
